Robert Barth is a Director of Financial Institutions with Brutten Global. He is also the CEO of Black Equities Group Ltd., a diversified real estate investment company founded by the legendary Stanley Black. He has over 35 years of experience in real estate development and investments, and oversees a real estate portfolio of over 7 million sq. ft.
He graduated with a B.S. degree from the University of California, Berkeley and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. He began his career in 1973 by acquiring commercial and industrial properties, and in 1985, he initiated a professional relationship with Stanley Black. Over the next two and a half decades, they acquired interests in over 200 commercial and industrial properties located in California and the Western US.
About 12 years ago, Mr. Barth began diversifying his holdings into other ventures. He serves on the advisory boards of several private equity funds where he is an investor. In 2007 he was a co- founder of Mechanics Bank, formerly California Republic Bank, and is currently Chairman of the Board. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of a number of other privately held companies.
Outside the boardroom, Mr. Barth generously shares his time and resources. He serves on the Board of Governors and the Investment Committee at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was presented the Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors 2011 Philanthropic Leadership Award.
